local events in oban

There are a remarkable number of local events, admittedly mainly and not surprisingly in nearby Oban, and concentrated mainly into the main tourist season from Easter to October. In fact this makes it quite delightful to visit this superb area in the winter, spring and late autumn when an abundance of tourism riches in the west Highlands awaits, the seasonal colours are special and very contrasting, especially in autumn - and you can enjoy all of this in a very relaxed, tranquil and stress free environment.

Forgetting superb attractions always available, such as Oban Sea Life Centre, Oban Distillery, Glorious Gardens of Argyll, Day Trips to Iona and Mull, Ganavan Sands (little Ganavan 1/2 mile), Dunollie Castle, the Witches Walk, Seil island, Arduaine gardens in particular (almost next door to us) - there are the usual cultural and musical festivals and events characteristic of any Highland Scottish resort such as Oban - and some superb Highland Games and Gatherings throughout the summer from early May to early September.
